The Process

10,000 hour rule in full effect! Do you know how many drones we’ve had to crash to get to this level? I’ve lost track. Here’s how an ideal shoot works:

Location, Location, Location.

The number one way for us to make emotionally engaging video is to take people somewhere exciting. And, front start to finish, every shot counts. That’s where our 14 year experience in Austin comes in handy! 5 years of professional drone work in the greater Austin area means we’ve seen every corner of it from just about every angle imaginable; if you don’t have a location for your shoot yet, we can help!

Flying Cameras.

So many fallen quadcopters… and that’s what it takes to build expertise. We have an arsenal of tried-and-true equipment that can take your viewers on a rollercoaster ride over the tops of skyscrapers, on a high-speed motorcycle chase, or a leisurely cruise through an open-concept home. What a time we live in!

Our head pilot:

John Robinson

Professional Drone Pilot, Quadcopter mechanic, Chief Editor

14 years living in Austin has given John the rather unique distinction of a local, and a very intimate knowledge of the entire Central Texas area. He has spent the last 5 years flying drones professionally, and accumulated all the knowledge and skills needed to see a huge gap in local videography services.

Frequently asked questions

This will be a nebulous answer, because it simply all depends! Local shoots will generally be billed per hour, further ones will require either a trip fee or a higher hourly rate. The type and level of editing that’s desired will determine whether editing can be included in the shoot cost or will be assessed afterward. A ballpark estimate should be easily generated with a quick chat on the phone, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

Winter shoots are notoriously tough. Rain, wind, snow: these things don’t make for good aerial footage. Staying flexible, keeping an eye on the forecast, and getting all your ducks in a row ahead of time is the best way to make sure we can capture what you need.

Contact us so we can talk shop. Don’t wait until the last minute! Weather, time of day, traffic, permissions, and all sorts of shoot-specific moving pieces can affect the process. The more variables we can isolate ahead of time and the bigger the time window, the better the shoot will be!

Our social media presence is still in development. A reel with some example clips can be found on the Media page.
